Travel recommendations

We appreciate all our friends and family who are coming from afar and we hope you can enjoy the weekend in beautiful northern California! We have put together a few travel recs for you!

Sebastopol / Sonoma County:

Sebastopol is a town located in Sonoma County, about an hour north of San Francisco. Traditionally, when you hear “wine country” you may think of Napa or Sonoma, but Sebastopol is located right next to many other small towns known for wine. The closest large city is Santa Rosa, which is where we have blocked hotel rooms.

The Barlow - a cute shopping center very close to our venue with great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques!

MacRostie Winery - one of our favorite wineries! Their tastings are $40. They have an amazing Chardonnay and there is a llama when you enter the vineyard! :)

Dawn Ranch - for those who want to relax and be in nature, this is a beautiful boutique hotel in Guerneville. We highly recommend their restaurant for dinner or just stopping in for a drink and enjoying the beautiful interiors.

Russian River Brewery - for beer lovers, this is a great local brewery.

The Flamingo Hotel - a cute retro boutique hotel in Santa Rosa with a pool and restaurant. Also would be a fun spot to stay for the weekend!

Sonoma Pizza Company - one of our favorite restaurants in the area. Good pizza, wine, and appetizers. It’s everything you could want for a casual, relaxing dinner!

San Francisco:

If you have time on your trip to stop by San Francisco, we have so many recs for you! We love living in this beautiful city and truly think there is so much to enjoy here. Pro tip: wear layers, the temps fluctuate throughout the day!

Presidio Tunnel Tops - a perfect place to view the Golden Gate Bridge, go for a walk, and enjoy views of SF! We love to grab a sandwich and have a little picnic on the grassy area overlooking the bridge.

Golden Gate Park - better than Central Park in our opinion :) We love to visit all the amazing spots this park has to offer, including the Conservatory of Flowers, DeYoung Museum, the Academy of Sciences, and the Japanese Tea Garden (where our engagement photos were taken!). We also love to rent Lyft bikes and ride through the park. The options are endless!

Arsicault Bakery - croissants, croissants, croissants. Expect a line!

Pearl 6101 - one of our favorite restaurants where we have spent many date nights!

Hook Fish - another favorite spot of ours that’s perfect for a casual lunch by the ocean. We love their fish tacos!

Mister Jiu’s - If you’re looking for an elevated dinner, this is truly one of the best! Book the tasting menu if you’re feeling fancy, or just go a la carte and it’s just as good! Be sure to check out Moongate Lounge upstairs for a cocktail and a view of Chinatown after dinner.

Yuanbao Jiaozi - the best dumplings you will ever have! Just trust. Also recommend their beef noodle soup. (There’s also one located close to the airport if you want a quick bite before your flight!)

Saint Frank - owned by our friends Kevin and Lauren, their coffee has been an SF staple for years, and all their cafes are beautiful. They have multiple locations across the city!

The Coffee Movement (on Balboa) - Tyler’s favorite spot for coffee after a long bike ride through the park!
